In offering family support, it is important to establish and promote positive human relationships. Family Support Program in Canada, based on their unique conceptual framework on its practice, provides programs that facilitate constructive relationships between practitioners and families in various flexible ways. It adopts a reflective evaluation system, in which the definitions of programs, guiding principles, practices and outcomes are repeatedly and reflectively evaluated at each stage. By resetting and reformulating communication with the family, the composition of the practitioners' team, specific goals for the support, they can offer effective services implemented through communication focusing on the family in real life. 　This article shows that elements that are important for practitioners to establish positive relationships with families are deliberately built into the family support  in Canada, and that it is promising and even necessary to introduce family support programs practiced in Canada into Japan.
